Asusun Kula da Yara na Majalisar Dinkin Duniya (UNICEF) ya ce mutum akalla 31,342 ne suka kamu da kwalara a kasar Kogo sannan mutum 230 suka mutu sanadin cutar a watanni bakwai na farkon shekarar 2023 -- galibinsu kuma kananan yara ne.

Ya bayyana haka ne ranar Juma'a a wani sabon bayani da ya fitar.

UNICEF ya ce lamarin ya fi kamari a Arewacin Kivu, inda aka tabbatar mutum fiye da 21,400 sun kamu da cutar, cikinsu har da fiye da kananan yara 8,000 masu shekara kasa da biyar.

"Ya kamata girman wannan matsala ta kwalara da kuma yadda take yaduwa su tayar da hankula,” a cewar Shameza Abdulla, Babban Jami'in UNICEF a Jamhuriyar Dimokuradiyyar Kongo kan Ayyukan Agajin Gaggawa.

“Idan ba a dauki mataki nan da watanni masu zuwa ba, akwai babbar barazana da ke nuna cewa cutar za ta watsu zuwa wasu sassan kasar da suka kwashe shekaru ba su fuskanci irin wannan matsala ba,” in ji shi.

Ya kara da cewa akwai yiwuwar kwalara za ta ci gaba da yaduwa a sansanonin 'yan gudun hijira wadanda da ma suna cunkushe da jama'a, kuma hakan babbar barazana ce ga kananan yara da suka fi fuskantar hadarin kamuwa da cutuka da kuma mutuwa.
