Nigeria don direct Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) to investigate allegations of anti-competitive practices against big global technology companies, including Meta, Alphabet (Google), X (wey dem formerly know as Twitter), and some Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms wey dey operate for Nigeria.

The directive follow one joint petition wey Nigerian Press Organisation (NPO) submit to the Presidency, wey accuse the companies of practices wey suppose undermine fair competition, threaten the commercial survival of Nigerian media organisations, and break the rights of content creators and publishers.

NPO include Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), and Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).
