According to NERC report for di last quarter of 2025, di market operator send total bill of $20.44m to international customers for Benin, Togo and Niger for di power wey dem supply dem for dat time. But di three countries only fit pay $10.89m out of di total bill, wey be 53.28 percent.
Di report talk say, “Di three international bilateral customers wey dey collect light from GenCos for Nigeria electricity market pay $10.89m against di total bill of $20.44m wey di market operator give dem for services for 2025/Q4, wey mean say dem only pay 53.28 percent.”
Na mean say for every $100 wey dem bill dese international customers, only $53.28 dem pay, balance $46.72 wey make up di $9.55m debt wey dem still owe.
Di debtors include power companies for di three countries — SBEE for Benin Republic, wey dem supply light through Paras and Transcorp (Ughelli and Afam 3).
CEET for Togo, wey dem supply through Paras and Odukpani, and NIGELEC for Niger, wey dem supply through Mainstream.
Out of di six international bilateral contracts, only few pay well. For example, Paras-SBEE for Benin dem bill $2.45m and dem pay $1.67m, wey be 68.16 percent. Paras-CEET for Togo dem bill $2.18m and dem pay $1.46m, wey be 64.97 percent. Transcorp-SBEE (Ughelli) for Benin dem bill $3.74m but dem only pay $0.46m, wey be very small 12.30 percent.
Transcorp-SBEE (Afam 3) for Benin pay better, dem pay $3.21m out of $3.90m bill, wey be 82.31 percent. Mainstream-NIGELEC for Niger dem get di highest bill of $5.96m and dem pay $4.09m, wey be 68.63 percent. But Odukpani-CEET for Togo dem bill $2.18m but dem no pay anything at all, wey be 0.00 percent.
Di NERC report add say one international customer and one domestic bilateral customer pay old debts from before. SBEE pay $3.54m to di market operator, while APLE pay N141m.
