Di Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Mehmet Poroy, don show commitment to strengthen di bilateral trade and investment opportunities for Nigeria, wit chance to increase di total trade flow wey dey $2 billion now.

Poroy make dis commitment yesterday wen e lead top Turkish private investors on business visit to Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) for Kano.

Also, di Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, don talk say Nigeria go still honour dia cooperation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding wit Turkey.

Di Turkish envoy explain say dem ready to widen di business and investment network wit private and public organisations for Kano to make di existing bilateral MoU between di two kontris happen.

E reveal say im kontris ready to export different expertise to support private business and investment for Kano, especially for areas like energy, technology transfer, health, and agriculture, to improve trade and better life for di state.

Besides, di ambassador reveal say dem don finish plan to make visa application and processes easier by opening new visa centres for Lagos and Kano.

“I come here to meet Kano Chamber of Commerce, Nigerian business pipo, to see how we fit increase our bilateral trade and Turkish investment here. We get very successful, fruitful and result-oriented meeting.

“E be fruitful and I declare say we go get good news and oda facilities to increase people-to-people contact between business pipo. Dat mean say new Turkish visa application centre go open soon, insha Allah, for Kano to help business pipo from Kano get dia visa from Kano easily without needing to go Abuja.” Poroy reveal.

Earlier, di Chairman of Nigeria-Turkey Business Council, Dele Oye, explain say di visit to Kano na part of follow-up to President Bola Tinubu trip to Turkey for January 2026, where dem sign many MoUs to increase trade facilitation.

E note say stakeholders don get instruction to expand bilateral trade between both kontris from $2 billion to $5 billion, e stress say Kano get strategic importance for achieving di target.
