Di new bill wey Senator Umar Suleiman from Kwara North sponsor, e also say make dem seize your assets, pay di people wey you wound, and give NAFDAC more power to catch offenders.

If dem pass am into law, e go cancel di old fake drugs law and bring new one wey go fit handle wahala like online drug sales, cross-border smuggling, advanced fake production, and big criminal groups.

Wen Suleiman dey talk for house, e say di current law no dey strong again to handle di new ways wey people dey use do fake drugs.

E say, “Dis bill dey make am crime to produce, import, manufacture, transport, distribute, sell, hold, or help any fake medical product, fake drug, or bad processed food.

“E also dey ban production or holding of fake labels, wrappers, packaging materials, and machines wey dem dey use to make fake products.”

Di new bill also dey ban sale and hawking of medicine for any place wey no get approval—like open markets, motor parks, roadside, buses, ferries, and online platforms wey no get license.
