Di Minister of Defence, Gen Christopher Musa (retd.), on Tuesday vow say e go take legal action against people wey dey spread rumour say e resign, as e tok say di reports "surprise" am and e no know where dem come from.

"I no dey go anywhere. I never discuss this matter before. I no even know who be di person wey bring that information.
"But whoever e be, we go take legal action against dem," Musa tok afta e come out from private meeting wit President Bola Tinubu for Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Musa reach di Villa around 3pm and comot well after 4pm on Tuesday, as di rumour about im tenure dey fly around.

As e come out from di meeting, di minister deny say dem talk about resignation and e tok say di reports na handiwork of people wey no dey happy wit di government security progress.

"Whoever e be, we go take legal action against dem. I dey sure say we go catch dem.
"E go come explain who give am such information," Musa tok.

E describe di rumour as deliberate attempt to make people lose confidence for di government security achievements.

"We dey surprised. I shock when I see that one. I no know where e come from.

"But you always expect say there go be people wey no go happy when things dey go well.
"Security dey improve, things dey get better, and for dem, that one na sad thing. Dem always want to make e look as if e no be so," e tok.

E say di private meeting wit di President na routine security briefing and Tinubu show say e happy wit di military performance.

According to am, "I just come back from briefing Mr President about di current security situation, and e dey very happy wit us. We go continue to do well."

E still beg for continuous civilian cooperation wit security forces, saying e dey very important for di fight against terrorism and banditry.

Musa tok, "I want to use this chance to thank Nigerians for all di support.
"Di support don heavy. To defeat di terrorists and bandits need everybody hand join. Nigerians don key into am, and things dey get better, and dem go continue to improve."

Dem nominate Musa as Defence Minister by di President on December 2, 2025, afta e serve as Chief of Defence Staff from July 2023.
