While e dey speak for Enugu on Tuesday during di commissioning of one new advanced Forensic and Investigation Centre wey Godfrey Okoye University build with Enugu State government support, di IGP talk say police men and women still dey sacrifice their lives for di fight against crime, insurgency and banditry.
“We dey try our best, and we dey lose our men while we dey do am,” e complain.
Disu remember di recent death of three officers from Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit for Maiduguri, wey die while dem dey try to detonate one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) wey insurgents plant.
According to am, di officers ignore advice to postpone di operation until next day because dem want to prevent civilians from dying.
“Dem be dedicated officers wey want to save lives. Unfortunately, dem fall into di trap wey di insurgents set, and we lose dem,” e talk.
Di police boss still assure Nigerians say security agencies dey work tireless to tackle insecurity for di country.
“We no dey sleep for our work. We dey work day and night. Wetin we dey do no be public knowledge, but very soon Nigerians go hear good news,” e state.
Concerning preparation for future elections, di IGP talk say Nigeria Police Force still dey fully ready to make sure elections dey peaceful, credible and without violence.
E note say di Force don successfully play their part for di recent elections and go continue to train personnel to fit follow new electoral laws and security challenges.
