Tanzania don remove Nigerian nationals from their referred visa category, ending the requirement for special clearance before dem go fit get visa.

Tanzania Immigration Services Department announce the development for one notice wey dem date September 25 and share for their official X handle on Monday.

The statement wey Paul Mselle, chief spokesperson of the Tanzania Immigration Services Department sign, talk say the decision follow amendments wey dem publish for government gazette No. 246 of 2026.

"With immediate effect, Nigerian nationals wey dey travel go the United Republic of Tanzania no longer dey under referred visa restrictions and dem go follow standard visa application procedures through the official immigration online portal or designated entry points," the statement talk.

Referred visa na wetin nationals of some countries need - dem go need special clearance from Tanzania commissioner general of immigration or the commissioner of immigration (Zanzibar) before dem go fit issue visa.
