Nigerian President Bola Tinubu don approve small cabinet shake-up wey sack two ministers and raise one junior official to di important position of finance minister.

Taiwo Oyedele, wey be di minister of state for finance before, don take over from Wale Edun as finance minister and coordinating minister of di economy.

Di statement also say Housing and urban development minister Ahmed Musa Dangiwa don also leave cabinet, and dem don name Muttaqha Rabe Darma as ministerial nominee for dat role.

Meanwhile, Mr Edun don thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu afta dem remove am from office, say im time for government na honour and privilege to serve Nigeria.

For statement wey im release soon afta im exit, Edun thank di president for trusting am with key responsibilities since dis government start for May 2023.

Im recall say im first serve as head of Presidential Transition Committee, then as special adviser on monetary policy, before dem finally appoint am as finance minister.

As im think back on im time for office, Edun say di government inherit fragile economy but dem work together to stabilise di macroeconomic environment and make fiscal matter strong.
