Di Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission don begin to hold talks with important government agencies ahead of one oil and gas investment summit wey dem plan to hold for China.

Di summit wey dem dey plan to hold for end of November 2026 go target investment opportunities for both upstream and downstream parts of di oil and gas industry, especially Nigeria plenty gas resources.

RMAFC release statement on Monday wey dia Head of Information and Public Relations Unit, Maryam Umar-Yusuf, sign, after di commission meet with stakeholders for petroleum sector.

According to di statement, di meeting wey dem hold na Dr Ekene Enefe lead am. Na im be Chairman of RMAFC Investment Monitoring Committee and Federal Commissioner wey represent Anambra State.

Di statement talk say, “Di Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission don start engagement with key stakeholders for oil and gas sector as part of efforts to attract more investment into Nigeria oil and gas industry, so dat money wey dey enter Federation Account go increase.

“Di engagement wey di Chairman of Commission Investment Monitoring Committee and Federal Commissioner wey represent Anambra State, Dr Ekene Enefe lead, na to inform relevant government agencies about plans to organise Oil and Gas Investment Summit for China, wey dem dey plan to hold for end of November 2026.”

Enefe talk say dis initiative na part of di commission efforts to increase investment for petroleum industry and make di money wey dem go share among di three tiers of government increase.

“We look di opportunities wey dey for gas sector of di economy and we feel say we need to intervene, especially to bring investors come di sector, both upstream and downstream,” e talk.

Di RMAFC official explain say di Investment Monitoring Committee dey monitor Federal Government investments for oil and gas industry and make sure say di country dey receive di right revenues and accruals from di sector.

E talk say di committee don make progress for monitoring di industry, including efforts wey make dem recover some revenue and enforce penalties against oil companies wey no dey follow rules.

According to di statement, some of dia interventions dey related to obligations wey dem put on operators under Petroleum Industry Act, including provisions wey concern gas flaring.
