Nigeria dey try more to make dia own defence industry strong, with plans to set up local factories for armoured vehicles, anti-drone systems and oda special military equipment.
Dis programme dey run by Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria–D7G, together with Eagles International for Defence Systems, to help transfer technology, increase wetin Nigeria fit produce for inside, and reduce how di country dey depend on foreign military equipment.
Di CEO of DICON-D7G, Mr Osman Chennar, talk dis one for inside statement afta di Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and im team do two-day inspection tour of factories and military production places for Cairo, Egypt.
Chennar say di partnership go create more than 200 jobs, and also give work opportunity to about 100 retired military pipo.

According to am, di arrangement go help transfer advanced defence technology to Nigeria and make di country fit produce many kinds of military platforms for dia armed forces and possibly for oda African countries.
Some of di platforms wey di partnership dey target include Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle BR6, Armoured Personnel Carrier cabin, 120mm manual mortar launcher cabin, medical evacuation and ambulance cabins.
Odas include MRAP-Buffalo U.10 and M.12 armoured vehicles, MRAP-Buffalo F-4, Rhino Guard GXR anti-drone and RPG-protected vehicle, APC Moon PT6, GXR Phantom light vehicle and BMP-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
Chennar say dis development na part of bigger plan to build Nigerian defence manufacturing system wey go last, wey fit design, assemble and produce military equipment for inside di country.
Dis initiative dey come as Nigerian Army still dey receive locally made armoured vehicles as part of effort to strengthen local defence production and boost operation power.
Apart from vehicle production, DICON-D7G still dey plan to build special military jetty for Lagos to help move raw materials, parts and finished military equipment.
Chennar say di facility go serve as strategic logistics hub for supply and distribution of military equipment for inside Nigeria and across Africa.
