All the passengers who were kidnapped off a bus on Wednesday in Nigeria's central Benue state have been rescued, the regional governor said on Sunday.

The number of people kidnapped from the bus and rescued was initially unclear.

Local police said 14 were kidnapped, while Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia mentioned 15 people in comments to the press on Sunday.

Earlier, the police said that seven suspects had been arrested in connection with the kidnappings.
