Türkiye’s national football team arrived in the United States on Tuesday as it entered the final phase of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The squad landed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it was welcomed by Türkiye’s Ambassador to the US, Sedat Onal, and Consul General Resul Sahinol.
The team will play a final friendly against Venezuela before turning its full attention to the tournament.
Managed by Vincenzo Montella, Türkiye return to the World Cup for the first time since 2002 and enters the tournament with a squad featuring captain Hakan Calhanoglu, Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz.
Eyes on Group D
After the Venezuela warm-up match, Türkiye will establish its World Cup base in Mesa, Arizona, before opening its Group D campaign against Australia.
The Crescent-Stars are also scheduled to face Paraguay and co-hosts the United States as they seek to advance from a challenging group.
Co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, the expanded 48-team tournament begins on June 11 and runs through July 19.
