Turkish companies have signed nearly $8 billion in export contracts during the first three days of the SAHA 2026 International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition, the SAHA Istanbul Chairman Haluk Bayraktar said on Friday.

“I sincerely congratulate all our SAHA Istanbul members who built this proud achievement,” Bayraktar said on X.

“In SAHA 2026, as a country, we achieved a historic record,” he added.

Turkish firms are showcasing their newest cutting-edge products at the SAHA 2026, taking place on May 5-9 at the Istanbul Expo Centre. The event is organised by the largest defence, aviation and space industry cluster of Türkiye and Europe, with Anadolu serving as its global communications partner.

TEI CEO eyes export growth amid Türkiye’s aviation engine expansion

Türkiye's Tusas Engine Industries (TEI) is expanding its role in the global aviation supply chain while accelerating efforts to develop domestic engine capabilities, its CEO said.

Speaking to Anadolu at the international defence exhibition SAHA in Istanbul, Mahmut Faruk Aksit said TEI has a dual role in the aviation industry: producing critical engine technologies for Türkiye and supporting international aviation engine programmes through parts and module production.

“One of our major activities is parts and module production.”

He said TEI’s exports have grown steadily.

“Last year, we were close to half a billion dollars in exports, and all of these parts are used in more than 50 different engine programmes,” he said.
