The Malian army announced on Tuesday that it carried out air strikes against terrorist groups in several locations, neutralising 50 terrorists and destroying vehicles and logistics depots.

The first wave on Monday targeted western Dioura, hitting a major camouflaged terrorist hideout containing six pick-up trucks, motorcycles and a fuel and munitions depot under vegetation cover, according to a statement by the General Staff.

In northern Sevare, strikes neutralised "about 50 terrorists" and destroyed four pick-ups, motorcycles and another major logistics depot.

A third operation in southeastern Ménaka "totally neutralised" an armed terrorist group.

"The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces congratulates the Malian soldiers for their determination and unwavering commitment in the service of national defence," it said, adding that "armed terrorist groups will be tracked to their last hideouts across the entire national territory."

The strikes are part of offensive reconnaissance missions nationwide, as Mali faces a surge in terror and separatist attacks in the central and northern parts of the country, including coordinated assaults in April against Bamako and other military sites.
